Free PPE Offered by Department of Health

January 24, 2024 – The Ohio Department of Health (ODH) is offering non-sterile personal protective equipment (PPE) to you at no charge. The PPE (gloves, masks, gowns, hand sanitizer, etc.) was purchased as part of Ohio‘s public health response during the COVID-19 pandemic.

National Physician Suicide Awareness Information

September 14, 2023 – OSMA is partnering with Disappearing Doctors to cohost an event The Disposables—an original collection of portraits honoring the 400+ physicians who die by suicide each year. The Disposables—created by artist Jeremy Rosario—depicts handcrafted portraits made from donated disposable medical supplies from doctors’ workplaces. The portraits will be on display for public viewing at the COhatch The Gateway starting on Monday Sept. 18 through Oct. 20.

CMS Issues Final Rule Reforming Parts of Prior Authorization Requirements

April 11, 2023 – The rule creates enforcement provisions for misleading marketing schemes, removes barriers to care created by complex coverage criteria, and expands access to behavioral health care. OSMA joined with the American Medical Association in supporting these needed reforms.

Remote Patient Monitoring: Considerations for Telehealth Care

April 3, 2023 – Prior to the pandemic, practitioner concerns over how to conduct a physical examination during a virtual visit created a significant barrier to telehealth. Thanks to appropriate telehealth use guidelines and technological advances, important components of an in-office visit, such as vital signs and point-of-care testing, are now becoming an in-home reality with remote patient monitoring.
