There has been a flurry of activity around Ohio’s Medical Marijuana in the last two weeks. Current OSMA members have free access to the Medical Marijuana Special Interest Group with regularly updated information. If you have not renewed your OSMA membership, do so by Dec. 31 to retain access to the group.
The Ohio Medical Marijuana Control Program (OMMCP) opened the patient and caregiver registry in late November and, as of December 17, the Ohio Board of Pharmacy reported that physicians certified to recommend have submitted 3,460 recommendations through the registry. Of those with a recommendation, 2,170 Ohioans activated their Registry Card, despite product not yet being available.
Also this week, the Ohio Pharmacy Board awarded the first Dispensary Certificate of Operation to CY+, a dispensary located in the village of Wintersville (population approximately 4000), four miles west of Steubenville.
