Hello OSMA Resident/Fellow Section!
My name is Brandon Francis, and I am honored to serve as your Chair of the Residents and Fellows Section (RFS) here in Ohio. For those of you new to the section, a little bit about me: I am originally from Evansville, Indiana, where I met my current wife in high school. I went to Vanderbilt University for my undergraduate degree before completing medical school at Indiana University. I have been happy to spend the last 3 years completing my internal medicine residency at Cleveland Clinic and am now transitioning into a chief resident position.
During the last year as RFS chair, we have advocated on issues ranging from reproductive rights to firearm safety and plenty of areas in between. Just recently, at OSMA's Annual Meeting, the organization continued to make strides in these areas through the passage of policy, which will help guide our future lobbying efforts.
My hope for the coming year is to renew our focus on recruitment and engagement of our residents and fellows. While we continue to advocate for core issues affecting physician trainees, the more members we have on the team, the stronger voice we will have.
Please email me if you are interested in advocacy, organized medicine, and representing your colleagues across the state!
Thank you for your membership,

Brandon Francis, MD Chair of the OSMA Resident/Fellow Section
