Summer Regulatory & Legal Update

Compliance Reminder: HIPAA Reproductive Privacy Rule implementation has essentially updated HIPAA for providers in three ways (get the details here). Also, read the latest on gender-affirming care cases, i.e. the Supreme Court case United States v. Skrmetti, and how a Franklin County judge issued a temporarily injunction for the enforcement of the House Bill 68 legislation, which would prevent transgender youth from receiving gender-affirming care.

Update on 2025 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule Proposed Rule

Earlier this month, we reported that HHS had released the 2025 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule proposed rule that included nearly a 3% cut. The AMA has now developed a comprehensive summary of the rule, and OSMA will be working with the AMA and other state and federal physician groups to advocate for legislative action to reverse these cuts and include increases. Stay tuned for more information about how you can help take action in the weeks ahead!
