OSMA Continues Advocacy Efforts for Medicare Payment Reform

Last week, OSMA's advocacy team contacted every member of the Ohio congressional delegation—urging them to sign on to a “Dear Colleague” letter from Representatives Mariannette Miller-Meeks, MD (R-IA), Jimmy Panetta (D-CA), and a bipartisan group of physician members. Our goal is to get House leadership to take immediate action to not only stop the 2.8 percent cut to physician Medicare payments, but also to provide physicians with a much-needed payment update that reflects the inflationary pressure they're facing while running a medical practice. We need all OSMA members to do the same—please tell your member of Congress to sign the Miller-Meeks/Panetta “Dear Colleague” letter today. The deadline for cosigners is September 27.

Leadership Institute Registration
& Scholarships Available

Last week the Physicians Foundation announced the application process for its Leadership Institute with Brandeis University. This is a unique opportunity for practicing physicians to advance your practice environment, enhance your professional fulfillment, and elevate your leadership capabilities through a program specifically designed to deepen your understanding of key health drivers and ensure physician perspectives help shape policy decisions. Participation in the Institute includes full coverage for tuition, travel and CME credits—an estimated value of up to $40k. We hope interested physicians from Ohio will take advantage of this excellent opportunity.
