R.I.S.E. Program

Recognizing Excellence In Representation, Inclusion, Service and Equity

Here at the OSMA Medical Student Section, we want to recognize our students’ hard work, both inside and outside of the OSMA. Therefore, we started the R.I.S.E. program, with pillars in representation, inclusion, service and equity. Within each pillar, there are specific tasks you can do, either in the OSMA or in your local community. If you are unsure how to get involved within the OSMA Medical Student Section, the R.I.S.E. program is a great place to start!

We want to recognize YOU! So track your involvement by filling out our activity form! Awards will be presented at the OSMA Annual meeting on April 3rd, 2027.

Citing OSMA Resolutions on your CV!

Have you written a resolution with us?

Make sure your hard work is displayed proudly on your CV! The way to cite a policy on your CV is as follows:

Last Name First Initial, Last Name First Initial, Last Name First Initial. Title of Policy (as listed in the Policy Compendium). Ohio State Medical Association (OSMA) Annual Meeting. Month Year. Policy ##-Year (as listed in the Policy Compendium).

Example:

Shamsi S, Brockwell M, Massey M, Huff E, Moore J, Prater E, Shah S, Lam S, McClain G, Zandvakili S. Support of Comprehensive Healthcare Reform through Exploration of Other Models. Ohio State Medication Association (OSMA) Annual Meeting. April 2025. Policy 36-2025.

Note: don’t forget to BOLD your name, as shown in the example with Shamsi S

Additionally, If your resolution was accepted as MSS Internal Policy but failed on the HOD Floor at Annual, instead of “Ohio State Medication Association (OSMA) Annual Meeting” you can write “Ohio State Medication Association (OSMA) Medical Student Section (MSS) Internal Policy”.
