Call for Scientific Poster Abstracts

The Ohio Gastroenterology Society (OGS) invites Medical Students, Residents and Fellows to submit an abstract for poster presentation at the 2023 annual meeting. This is an excellent opportunity to become involved in the OGS annual meeting and to enhance your reputation both within and outside your institution – and to network with physicians about potential practice opportunities. Close to 100 gastroenterologists will attend this meeting. This event will provide you with the opportunity to learn about new treatment options and research to advance towards excellence in gastroenterology clinical practice.

Submission and Review Process
Abstracts should relate to clinical or research oriented work in the field of gastroenterology. Abstracts will be considered if they have been accepted for presentation at other North American conferences. If the abstract is accepted, an author must commit to attending the OGS Annual Meeting to present their poster. You may submit abstracts of completed work, work in progress or work presented at a local or regional level. The primary author is responsible for obtaining written consent form all authors and appropriate institutions prior to submitting an abstract.
Guidelines
• Limit of two applications per individual.
• Each abstract will be reviewed for quality and content.
• Poster board size will be 6' wide by 4' tall. Your poster may be of any size smaller than these dimensions.
• Presenters are responsible for creating and bringing their own poster. Pins will be provided.
• Abstracts/posters must be free of commercial influence. In addition, they may not imply an endorsement of any commercial product or service.
• Authors are asked to be at their poster during the morning break.

You must designate one of the following categories for each abstract submitted.

2. Case Study
Format
The size limit for the body of the abstract is 350 words. Standard abbreviations may be used. Do not include references or tables/graphs in the body of the abstract. Organize the abstract as follows:
• Title
• Authors
• Body
o Purpose
o Methods
o Results
o Conclusion
Awards
• Up to 20 abstracts may be accepted.
• A $100 award will be given to the top two abstracts as voted on by the review committee.
• Each applicant whose poster abstract is selected will receive complimentary overnight accommodations.
