Play Hard, Don’t Blink Supports Eye Safety During the Pandemic

Public Service Update

For the past 20 years, the OOS has administered the Play Hard, Don’t Blink program, providing thousands of pieces of eye safety equipment to leagues, schools and individuals in every county in Ohio.

While the pandemic made 2020 a challenging year for equipment distribution, we were still able to provide 25,000 pieces of equipment—including 3,472 baseball helmets with face shields, 1,144 fielder’s facemasks, 19,364 vocational goggles and masks, 451 prescription goggles and 185 goggles for basketball/soccer. The OOS has already submitted a funding proposal to the state for resources for next school year.
