ODH Launches New Public Health Podcast
ODH is part of a network of federal, state, and local organizations dedicated to public health. But what exactly IS public health? What do public health organizations do?
For answers, check out the first installment of ODH’s new podcast, “Healthy Perspectives with Dr. Bruce Vanderhoff.”
Hosted by ODH Director Dr. Vanderhoff, the podcast helps explain the scope of public health and its importance to our lives, from its role in preventing illness and injury to responding to public health emergencies and more. It features guest Jim Watkins, a recently retired local health commissioner who spent 37 years in public health.
“My goal with this podcast is to share a more in-depth look at vital and topical health issues through conversations with expert guests,” said Dr. Vanderhoff. “We want to reach as many Ohioans as we can with information that advances their health and well-being. Given the rising popularity of podcasts, this is an exciting way to broaden our reach and serve the people of Ohio.”
The podcast can be found on ODH’s YouTube channel, as well as on Spotify and Amazon Music.
ODH hopes to post new episodes quarterly.
