Issues Affecting Providers in Ohio, Downcoding, MUE Edits, and What to do when Medicaid overpays
Topics covered include:
- A review of the down coding by insurance programs for care coded at the 99204, 99205, 99214 and 99215 levels of care. This will include best practices for billing services with the appropriate diagnoses coding and updating the documentation process to include key elements insurance programs review when making coding determinations. (30 minutes)
- A review of Medicaid overpayments and what actions the practice needs to take to make sure they are in compliance with both Medicaid and Ohio overpayment rules. (5-10 minutes)
- A discussion of the MUE (medically unlikely edits for medications and other services. (5 minutes)
- A review of the documentation, coding and use of the G2211 code for Medicare (5 minutes)
- A review of the status of telehealth documentation, coding and modifiers with CPT codes and POS. (10 minutes)
- And time for Q&A.

CONTINUING EDUCATION
This program is applying for AAPC for 5 continuing education hours. Granting of prior approval in no way constitutes endorsement by AAPC of the program content or the program sponsor.
Each hour of education equals one credit. A unique CEU code will be given during each presentation. Learners must keep track of these codes and enter them in the one-time evaluation (emailed to you the week after the webinars) as your verification of participation. Once you complete your evaluation and enter in the CEU codes, we will email you the AAPC Index numbers. This is a process required by AAPC to verify attendance. Each person wanting CEU credit should have his/her own registration. AAPC credit is valid only for participation in the live webinars.
DETAILS
- Multiple staff in one location may listen to the webinar but the CEU credits are available only to those with their own registration.
- All presentations except the Medicare Update/CGS Administrators presentation will be recorded, however credit is valid only for the live webinars. Those who register will have access to listen to recordings through December 2025.
- No refunds once a registration has been made.
