Volunteer Opportunities with OSMA—We Need Your Input!

After our annual meeting, we reach out to members looking for volunteers to participate in key organizational initiatives. This year, we’re hoping you will consider volunteering for one of the following committees (see below for more description).

  • Well-Being

  • Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

  • Membership Committee

All groups meet virtually in the evening so as to avoid as many work conflicts as possible. If you have any questions about these or other OSMA volunteer opportunities, please contact OSMA CEO, Todd Baker, tbaker@osma.org

Well-Being Committee

The Well-being Committee was established several years ago by then OSMA President, Evangeline Andarsio, MD. While initially focused primarily on educational and informational resources in its initial years, it has evolved into providing guidance on OSMA programming such as the Well-Being CARE Service, OSMA advocacy efforts that impact well-being like prior authorization reform and licensure reform and partnership with other organizations collective well-being efforts.

Diversity, Equity, Inclusion Committee

The mission of OSMA's Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Committee is to develop strategies that achieve increased diversity and inclusion within the organization and the profession of medicine with the overall goal of creating more equitable healthcare delivery and outcomes for all Ohioans. The committee work is focused initially in 2023 on constructing defined organizational governance, structures and activities that achieve diversity and inclusion within the OSMA, including the leadership and the membership at large.

Membership Committee

The Membership Committee focuses on guiding and supporting the organization’s membership recruitment, retention, service offerings, marketing and communications. Specifically in the last two years the committee has focused on programming for different demographic segments of the physician community (including those in training, young physicians, independent practice, employed, academic, etc.), providing feedback on pilot programming related to social media, member benefits programs and communication initiatives. If you have ideas about how the OSMA can best communicate and engage with Ohio physicians, we need your help.
