Physicians interested in applying for a Certificate to Recommend (CTR) in Ohio can take the following certified course to earn their CME.

Medical Cannabis in Ohio: Update for Ohio CTR Providers

Physicians who hold a CTR in Ohio must earn two hours of approved medical cannabis education each year. Credit earned by completing both of these videos may be used towards this requirement. By successfully completing these webinars, the learner should be able to:

Understand the scientific history behind cannabis and the discovery of core cannabinoids.

Recognize the structural basis of cannabinoid nomenclature, including isomers, homologues, analogues, and derivatives.

Identify clinically relevant cannabinoids and their pharmacological effects.

Evaluate risks associated with hemp-derived cannabinoids and synthetic TCH analogues.

Apply this information to patient counseling, safety considerations, and regulatory context.
The Ohio State Medical Association is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians. The OSMA designates this enduring activity for a maximum of 2.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
