Behind Every Patient is a Physician Who Needs Support, Too
This summer, the OSMA Foundation is investing in physician well-being, leadership development, and the next generation of physicians. Here's a look at the impact your support is making across Ohio.
Well-Being CARE ServiceThe demands of medicine can take a toll, and physicians need confidential support before stress, burnout, or emotional strain become overwhelming. The OSMA Foundation’s Well-Being CARE Service offers a free, confidential emotional health assessment and personalized support resources for physicians and other healthcare professionals across Ohio. Our recent, 5-year impact report's data opens the door for broader conversations about physician well-being in Ohio. We’re interested in learning what individuals, health systems, universities, and community partners are doing in the mental health space, and where there may be opportunities to work together to keep these resources available and expand support for physicians across Ohio.

Kumar Emerging Physician Leaders FundThis initiative supports residents, fellows, and early-career physicians as they pursue leadership, advocacy, and professional development opportunities that strengthen their careers and empower them to shape the future of medicine in Ohio. This year, the Fund is supporting Jonathan Markle, MD, as he pursues participation in the American Society of Hematology’s Advocacy Leadership Institute, a program focused on health policy, the legislative process, and effective physician advocacy. By investing in emerging physician leaders like Dr. Markle, the Kumar Fund helps ensure physicians are prepared to lead, advocate, and shape the future of medicine for years to come.
